Since I was in middle/high school, I’ve always wanted to take an extended trip and travel around the world for a few years. I grew up on Long Island, went to college at Northwestern and graduated in 2015. Since I was fortunate enough to not have any loans, I was able to put aside money for this every paycheck. After working for 4 years in Chicago, I retired in August 2019 to travel around the world on my savings account. The plan is to shoot for 4 years of travel and then go to grad school before my GMAT/LSAT/GRE scores expire.
In terms of interests…I’m a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan (February 4 2018 was the greatest day of my life). Also support Leeds United in soccer. Big fan of classic rock (The Who and The Clash are my favorite bands). No idea what I want to do after traveling but as of now, I think I’d be interested in some sort of non-profit or NGO type of work…if there’s one thing I’ve learned while saving up for this trip, it’s that I can live a relatively spartan lifestyle and still be happy, so I’m not really interested in getting some BS finance/consulting/tech gig just for the money.
I’ll be updating this site periodically as I travel, mostly for myself so that I have a written record/diary of the stuff I do as it’ll force me to write things down. Also for my parents/family/friends if they’re bored at work and want some light reading.
